Emergency 911 Disaptchable Location Discovery for Cisco Callmanager
Overview
Location Tracking is a feature of Call Telemetry that allows you to build a location database for your Cisco IP Phones. Locations can be linked to Subnets, Switches, Ports, and directly to Phones. This cumulative data can be used to build a rich situational alert that can be used to dispatch your emergency response teams.
Requirements
- Call Telemetry Appliance 0.7.0 or higher
- Cisco Callmanager version 11.5.1.13900-42 (SU3) or higher.
- Call Telemetry Premium License
- Cisco Callmanager 8.5 or higher
- Administrator access to Cisco Callmanager
- Enable Web access on Callmanager Cisco IP Phones to obtain CDP and LLDP, and Subnet Data
- Configured External Call Control Profile Inspection - add a Policy, and apply it to your 911 Route Pattern or Translation Pattern.
Call Telemetery 911 Location Tools
There are 4 tiers of location in Call Telemetry. Each object can be linked to an emergency dispatchable location with detailed descriptions. For example:
- Subnet: "12th Floor" + Street Address of Subnet
- Switch: "12th Floor, North IDF" + Street Address of Switch
- Port: Room level. "Room 101, Floor 12" + Street Address from Subnet/Switch
- Phone: Room Level. "Main Lobby Door, Room 101, Floor 12" + Street Address from Subet/Switch

Network Mapping for Dispatchable Phone Locations
Call Telemetry can map your network via QR Codes rendered directly on the Cisco IP Phones. This allows you to scan a QR code on a phone, and get the exact location of the phone. This is useful for dispatching emergency services, or for general network mapping.
Automatic 911 Addressing for Cisco IP Phones
Most Network admins are already managing the Address and location information of switches. On the Collab side, most 911 deployments become a large spreadsheet of dispatchable locations, network switches, and street addresses. They are often out of date, and not linked to the network. Call Telemetry can link the two together, and provide a realtime 911 Addressing solution for your Cisco IP Phones.
Phone Discovery - Scan phones in realtime, discovering CDP and LLDP Switch Neighbor, Switch Port, and Subnet. This allows the scanning process to locate the phone, and import the address and note field - giving you instant 911 Addressing for every phone in your network.
Subnet Addressing and Custom Data - This allows the scanning process to locate the subnet of the phone, and import the address and note field - giving you instant 911 Addressing for every phone in a subnet.
Meraki Integration - Automatically locate CDP Neighbors switches via the Meraki API, and import their address and note field - giving you instant 911 Addressing for Cisco IP Phones in a Meraki deployment. Enter the API integration key, and you have 300ft radius physical location and address of every phone worldwide.
