Policy Numbers and Tags
Numbers and Tags are used to match calling and called parties in rules and whitelists, blacklists.
Numbers
Numbers can be used to match calling or called parties in rules, whitelists, and blacklists.
Numbers can be either:
- an exact match - a specific number, such as 911 or 8005551212
- a regular expression - A RegEx match pattern
- For example, ^[1-9]\d{9}$ matches any 10 digit number starting with 1-9. or \d{4} matches any 4 digit number.
Number Example
Let's create a Number, and Tag it with "Business Partners". We can also add a comment to the number.
Numbers are added with automatic comments including hte user who added the number.
How can we use Numbers and Tags?
Some users use tags to identify numbers.
Numbers and Tags can be used in the following ways:
- Whitelist - Numbers and Tags can be used in Whitelists to permit calls. Available at all license levels.
- Blacklist - Numbers and Tags can be used in Blacklists to block calls. Available at all license levels.
- Rules - Numbers and Tags can be used in Rules to match calling or called numbers. Available at all license levels.
Tags
Tags are used to group numbers together. Tags can be used in Whitelists, Blacklists, and Rules.
Let's create a Tag called "Whitelist".

Notice that tags can also have descriptions.
