Create Snapshots and Schedules

Snapshots are the historical foundation of Configuration Intelligence. Capture the current CUCM configuration, pin the approved state as a baseline, and then automate future captures while the synchronized live mirror remains current.

Create the First Snapshot

1. Open Configuration Intelligence > Snapshots.
2. Select Create Snapshot.
3. Choose the CUCM cluster.
4. Enter a name that identifies the change window or approval point.
5. Review the object types inherited from Settings.
6. Start the snapshot and wait for the status to reach Complete.

The snapshot list shows the cluster, captured object scope, record counts, size, creation time, and current status.

Pin the Approved Baseline

Pin a snapshot only after your change process confirms that it represents an approved CUCM state.

1. Find the completed snapshot.
2. Open its actions menu.
3. Select Pin as Baseline.
4. Confirm that the snapshot appears in the Baselines group.

Use a name such as Approved Baseline — June 1 so reviewers can recognize the reference point without opening the snapshot.

Create and approve a new baseline after an authorized change window. Do not move the baseline simply to make unexplained drift disappear.

Compare From the Snapshot List

The snapshot actions provide shortcuts for common investigations:

• Compare to Baseline checks a later snapshot against the pinned reference.
• Compare to Previous isolates changes between consecutive captures.
• Compare to Live checks the snapshot against the current live mirror.

Schedule Recurring Snapshots

1. Select the Schedules tab.
2. Select New Schedule.
3. Name the schedule and choose a cluster.
4. Choose the frequency, time, and timezone.
5. Review any overlap warning before continuing.
6. Choose notification and evidence options.
7. Review the summary and create the schedule.

The schedule table shows its status, cadence, timezone, previous run, next run, and available actions.

Operate Existing Schedules

• Select Run Now when you need an immediate capture outside the normal cadence.
• Use View Run History to investigate failed or delayed executions.
• Enable As-Built generation or SFTP delivery only when the resulting evidence is needed on that cadence.

After the first scheduled snapshot completes, use the Dashboard and Timeline to review changes.
